Brief info

South African born Francois has made films in five continents. He produced and directed several major documentary series and standalone films that aired on major international television networks, which include National Geographic Explorer, ZDF in Germany, Discovery and the BBC’s Classic Adventure series. He produced and/or directed series such as Aspects of Life, The Last Edens, Secrets of Nature, A Last Glimpse and is currently hosting the prize-winning Siyaya – Come wild with us nature show for youth, and Wild World Diaries in which an aging ecologist returns to the places where he has worked decades before, to see what happened to the ecosystems and the people he used to know. He also has produced environmental education films for organizations such as the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), CARE INTERNATIONAL, International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), United Nations Development Program (UNDP), SANParks and CapeNature. He is an environmental and heritage expert and director of EcoAfrica in South Africa. He has written several books including a best-seller that covers his expeditions down the Amazon River. He has over 30 years of experience working intimately within and alongside local communities across Africa and abroad with other Seahorse Film team members.
